Project ECHO Session 14: At Home Alcohol Detox – Join us for our last session of 2023

By the end of this session participants will:

  • Have knowledge of evidence-based protocols and guidelines for supporting patients in at-home alcohol detoxification.
  • Gain confidence in identifying potential risks and withdrawal symptoms associated with at-home detox, enabling them to provide appropriate guidance and support.
  • Develop effective communication skills to motivate and engage patients in at-home alcohol detox, fostering a collaborative and supportive relationship.
  • Identify the stages of change in a patient who may want/need to address their alcohol consumption: pre-contemplator, contemplator, actioner, ongoing support
  • Discuss how to establish and maintain rapport with a patient at each stage of change

Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is an evidence-based learning model which places healthcare providers from diverse settings in direct contact with subject matter experts. It uses videoconferencing platform, Zoom, to enable sharing and development of best practice through case-based learning, with contributions from relevant multidisciplinary perspectives.
