Strengthening immunisation and cancer screening in general practice

WA Primary Health Alliance invites practice nurses in Perth East to attend our Preventative Health Forum.

This face-to-face event will provide information about the National Immunisation Program (NIP), vaccine safety and administration, and the national cancer screening programs.

The forum will cover the following topics:

• Key vaccine information, including why and when they should be administered.
• Cultural safety during immunisation appointments.
• Cold chain management processes, from receiving a vaccine in the practice to administering and recording in the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
• The Western Australian Vaccine Safety Surveillance (WAVSS) System – what and where to report.
• The four national cancer screening programs – breast, bowel, cervical and lung.
• The National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) and how integrating it into eligible software can assist clinicians.
