CLOSED: Integrated Health Precincts – Armadale
Background:
WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) is committed to fostering Integrated Healthcare Precincts to enhance integration at a local level where it will deliver the most impact.
The Precincts approach will involve several health care organisations including general practice, in a specific location, working together in an intentional, coordinated way to maximise health outcomes, cost efficiencies and improve the experience of individuals accessing services and clinicians providing them.
The Precincts will build on the capacity and capability of existing service provision in a specific location. They will aim to enhance local capacity and be clinically and financially sustainable.
The Precincts will not be health condition specific but will aim to optimise care for people with multiple long term health conditions.

WAPHA is looking to procure lead organisations to coordinate Integrated Health Precincts in Armadale and Bunbury. The lead organisations will be part of collaboratives of at least three service providers, one of which will be a general practice. As it develops, the Precincts may include more organisations.
The lead organisations will be responsible for developing governance mechanisms to support the integrated effort. Existing governance mechanisms may be adapted or expanded upon.
For this tender, WAPHA is not procuring service delivery – the lead organisations will be responsible for coordination of the Precincts. The service providers in the Precincts collaboratives will continue to operate service provision under their existing contracts.
In the tender specifications, WAPHA has outlined different types of health care integration that may be implemented through this approach. More context will be provided about this at the Tender briefing.
Funding for this activity will cover two years.
Applicants will be responsible for outlining in their submissions how these matters will be addressed.
Precincts offer considerable opportunities to enhance the experience of Aboriginal people accessing health care in Armadale and Bunbury, through promoting integrated, culturally appropriate and accessible care.
