CLOSED: Peer Support Capacity Building – Workforce

About this opportunity:

WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) is seeking to commission an organisation for the provision of training and development in best practice peer support work to improve the capability of the peer workforce to provide support to consumers, family members, carers and friends in suicide prevention and mental health. The aim of the funding is to improve the capability of the peer workforce in providing peer support to consumers, family members, carers and friends in the suicide prevention and mental health sector, prioritising individuals in focus locations and supporting priority population groups and, providing courses that are accessible and flexible to the varied needs and stages of the peer work sector.

The commissioned provider must provide and administrate a plan to:

  • Assess which training courses would be utilised to meet the need of this activity, how it is the best value for money, and fulfilling any sector standards required
  • Provide training(s). Training can be provided by via partnerships with other peer training organisations (RTO where required)
  • Promote the trainings
  • Assess and prioritise applications for training that meet the priorities of this activity
  • Address known barriers to access training
  • Report on uptake and impact of training

The provider will be required to prioritise focus locations in the SA3 regions of Swan, Armadale, Bunbury, Manjimup, Goldfields, Esperance, Mid-West and Kimberley.

This activity compliments a separate organisational capacity building activity for peer support groups and services (RFQ834).

Services are to be delivered until 30 June 2026.
