WA Sexual and Reproductive Health in Primary Care
ASHM invites GPs, GP registrars, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, and other health professionals working in primary care settings to attend this online learning course, delivered over two half day sessions:
Part 1: Saturday, 6 September 2025
Part 2: Saturday, 13 September 2025
The course aims to provide practitioners with an overview of sexual and reproductive health care in general practice, covering sexual health, sexual history taking, STI screening, contraception and unintended pregnancy.?This training also discusses how STI screening can be integrated into contraception and unintended pregnancy consultations.?Please note that full attendance of both live, facilitated sessions is necessary for a statement of attendance to be issued.
Learning outcomes:
- Describe the components of sexual health
- Implement effective sexual history taking
- Integrate evidence based STI screening into practice
- Define current contraceptive options and their relevant counselling points
- Demonstrate an approach to unplanned pregnancy including counselling and discussion of options
