Adolescent Eating Disorders and the Role of the GP

The GP’s roles in supporting families and adolescents with eating disorders (or at-risk of) is important.

This webinar explores identifying the at-risk patient, assessment and diagnosis; the referral pathways available, when to refer and coordinating care; useful resources and how GPs can support the patient and their families.

Learning outcomes

  1. Explain the role of the GP in the early detection and assessment of patients with an eating disorder
  2. Recognise the features of at least two different types of eating disorders
  3. Develop a comprehensive management plan, including referral to appropriate services
  4. Describe the role of the GP in the multidisciplinary team to support patients and their families within the community
