WAPHA’s governance framework and corporate structure is built on the key design principle to localise where essential, centralise where possible. The governance framework is layered to enable effective decision making at a local and state-wide level.

Key points within the WAPHA governance framework include:

  • A multi-disciplinary and skills-based WAPHA Board, including the Chairs of the three PHN Councils.
  • PHN Councils which contain the Chairs of the PHN Clinical Commissioning Committee and Community Engagement Committee.
  • Day-to-day working relationships between the three PHN Councils, to ensure dissemination of good practice, innovation and to remove cross-border barriers to effective care.
  • An ‘Innovation Hub’ consisting of private providers, NGOs, academics and special interest groups to design integrated models of care that meet our core objectives.
