WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) was proud to support CoLab, a partnership between the Telethon Kids Institute and Minderoo Foundation, to investigate the needs of Midland families with young children and the services that exist to support them.

Through funding from WAPHA, CoLab worked with the East Metropolitan region not-for-profit We the People to consult with mothers of children in the 0-4 age range in the Midland region about their experiences navigating local early years support services and systems.

Approximately 130 local mums with babies, toddlers and infants from across the community were involved in the consultation, many from Aboriginal or CALD backgrounds and with children requiring a high level of need from services.

A report on the consultation project is now available and will be used by CoLab to engage with regional and State peak organisations to help shape the development of the local early years sector and ensure parents are better placed to access the support they need for healthy development of their babies and toddlers.

We recently joined CoLab Co-Director of Research, Kim Clark in formally launching the report. Find out more about what was learned from the project in Kim’s welcome address.
