Access and psychosocial disability workshop: Supporting people with a psychosocial disability to access the NDIS
September 18 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) recognises the value and importance our partners, practitioners and community support workers in ensuring people have the best possible opportunity to apply for the NDIS.
This information session is intended to assist General Practitioners, health professionals, mental health specialists, community support workers and others working in similar service delivery roles.
The NDIS mental health and engagement teams will facilitate the session – come along to learn:
- how the NDIS legislation works and is applied – specifically terminology such as ‘likely to be permanent’ and ‘substantially reduced functional capacity’.
- how to provide evidence to support an NDIS access request
- how access decisions are made; and
- how to confidently talk about/explaining the NDIS access requirements amongst your networks in a consistent and accurate way
Date: Tuesday 18 September 2018
Time: 01:00pm – 03:00pm
Location: Community Hall, The RISE, 28 Eighth Ave, Bayswater
