Strategy and priorities

Our Strategic Plan provides an overview of the strategic priorities and key activities for WA Primary Health Alliance for the period 2017-2020.

The priorities and activities have been aligned to our vision and mission.

This strategy will enable us to achieve our purpose and improve the primary care system and health outcomes for Western Australians.

We also have a clear focus on our seven priority areas, as guided by the Australian Government.

Cultural diversity and inclusion

WA Primary Health Alliance celebrates, respects and values the inherent worth of every individual, and is committed to creating a safe and inclusive culture for all our staff and stakeholders.

We are inclusive of all cultural and linguistic groups, including, but not limited to, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, age-diverse, and people of diverse sexualities and gender identities.

We value and celebrate diversity within our community and aim to ensure our workforce and commissioning activities reflect this.

The participation of diverse groups enhances the development and implementation of our policies and commissioning approaches that provide Western Australians with access to high quality care that addresses identified needs and improves their health outcomes.

To support Board members, staff and committee members in recognising and celebrating diversity, we have:

  • Developed a Reconciliation Action Plan; and
  • Established an LGBTI action group, responsible for cultural leadership and quality improvement across the organisation.

We are also proud to be a member of Diversity Council Australia, the independent not-for-profit peak body leading diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
